AgilePM® Weekend Course - Options to Suit You

AgilePM Certification and Related Examinations

There are two levels of exam: Foundation and Practitioner.

Classroom Course Examinations

For the AgilePM Weekend In-Person courses, the exams are typically taken at the end of each weekend's training session. Typically, the Foundation and Practictioner Exams are completed on the afternoon of the Sunday.

Virtual Classroom Course Examinations

For the 'Attend from Anywhere' virtual classroom courses, the exams are taken after the training sessions at the convenience of the learner. These are typically taken online and we help with the scheduling of the exams.

AgilePM Audience

This course is for anyone involved, or planning to be involved, at any level within a project environment. This includes current and aspiring project managers or professionals who manage projects.

The audience includes those involved in the design, development and delivery of projects such as:

• Practising project managers
• Agile team members including those looking to become Agile Project Managers
• Individuals pursuing the AgilePM Practitioner Certificate
• Holders of management roles within organisations with active or planned projects and programmes

AgilePM In-Person Classroom Courses

Attending in-person provides the learner with the benefits of a modern classroom delivery. Particularly we ensure:

• In-Person attendees only - TrainX do not have mixed modality classroom with In-Person and Virtual attendees in the same session
• Sufficient space to layout and utilise all the physical materials
• Air conditioned rooms with WiFi, large projector screens and appropriate lighting
• Classroom layouts designed for learning rather than volume
• 8 attendees absolute maximum to allow for individual instructor time and easy viewing of the instructional media

AgilePM 'Attend from Anywhere' Virtual Courses

Virtual courses cover the same content as the In-Person classrooms and provide the learner with the benefits of the latest in virtual classroom delivery. Particularly we ensure:

• Virtual attendees only - TrainX do not have mixed modality classroom with In-Person and Virtual attendees in the same session
• Full Featured Virtual Learning Environment
• Simple Technical Requirements - Tested in Advance of the Course
• NB Headset required
• Physical materials posted to you prior to the event
• 6 Attendees absolute maximum to allow for individual instructor time

At Course Completion

After completing Foundation Course, attendees will understand:

• The underpinning philosophy and principles of Agile
• The lifecycle of an Agile project, including alternative configurations
• The products produced during an Agile project and their purpose
• The techniques used and their benefits and limitations
• The roles and responsibilities within an Agile project

Once the Practitioner Course is completed, attendees will understand:

• How to apply a variety of Agile practices in a project, e.g. Facilitated workshops, MoSCoW prioritisation, Iterative Development and Modelling
• How to test, estimate and evaluate benefits delivery in an Agile project
• The mechanisms for facilitation and support within an Agile project
• The Agile approach to managing and prioritising requirements

For the virtual courses, learners typically sit the exams after completing the training. We can help organise online examinations as part of the training package.

Prerequisites

NB For the Virtual Classroom ('Attend from Anywhere') events and you'll need a PC or Mac and internet connectivity. Other devices are possible - please contact us to discuss. See the 'Materials' tab for details.

There are no prerequisites for the Foundation Course other than English at 'Business Level'.

To attend the Practitioner course you'll need to be fluent in AgilePM at Foundation level.

To sit the Practitioner Examination you'll need one of:

• AgilePM Foundation Certificate
• DSDM Atern Foundation Certificate
• DSDM Advanced Practitioner Certificate

The above help build your AgilePM knowledge and skills and prepare you for the exams and also your future in project management. A pre-event preparation pack will be sent to everyone attending this event. The course is built around the AgilePM syllabus and features an interesting case study and relevant examples to illustrate the AgilePM method and help learners understand its concepts.

AgilePM Weekend Foundation Course

Initially there's an overview of AgilePM including a review of the pre-reading which covers the high level concepts and terminology of AgilePM.

The course then continues in a series of highly interactive sessions covering the entire AgilePM Foundation Syllabus which includes the core principles, concepts and processes.

Learning is optimised for the particular type of classroom, either virtual ('Attend from Anywhere') or physical. TrainX never have virtual and physical attendees at the same event. Multiple delivery methods are utilised and there are appropriate intermissions for comfort and knowledge retention. The full-time weekend course is 7 hours per day over the 2 days.

Optimal consolidation activities are included during the sessions. Review activities and a minimum of evening work are required during the training engagement.

AgilePM Weekend Practitioner Course

The course consists of a series of highly interactive sessions based on the entire AgilePM Practitioner Syllabus. You'll gain knowledge and understanding of how to apply and tailor the method appropriately for a range of different project environments and scenarios.

Learning is optimised for a virtual classroom and incorporates multiple delivery methods with appropriate intermissions for comfort and knowledge retention. The full-time course is 6 hours per day over 2 days and for part-time course, 3 hours 15 minutes per day, over 4 days.

Optimal consolidation activities are included during the sessions. Review activities and a minimum of evening work are required during the training engagement.

NB The course assumes that the learner has fluent Foundation level knowledge and skills at the outset.
